    Interactive Map of Marian Apparitions

Ever wondered about all the places the Blessed Mother has appeared to visionaries in around the world?

Below is an interactive Google map we built of events and locations recognized by the Catholic Church (mostly). To view, click on the map pins (Blue Map Pin Yellow Map Pin Red Map Pin) to see a description of the event(s) and where the source info was drawn from. Use the + and – signs to zoom into places like Europe where there have been many apparitions.

You can also use the hand icon Hand Icon to drag the entire map left/right and up/down.

Feel free to comment on any apparitions that were left out or should not have been included, or if you know of better summaries. God bless.

Mary Update! Reuters is reporting that Pope Benedict is hosting President Bush at an unusual Vatican setting. Interesting is a brief mention that “After their private talks, Bush and the Pope will stroll in the gardens to see a statue of the Madonna.” The press is highlighting that our Protestant President will be viewing the Madonna? Is Our Lady at work again?

Reader’s Update: Following reader suggestions, events have been color-coded according to their standing with the Catholic Church: (Blue Map Pin – Approved) (Yellow Map Pin – Neither Approved nor Disapproved) (Red Map Pin – Disapproved)

You may want to add Our Lady of Lichen Poland.

The Blessed Mother has appeared at sites in the United State including Santa Maria, CA; Conyers, GA; Phoenix, AZ; Lubbock, TX; and Emmitsburg, MD to mention a few. More research, especially in the United States, needs to be done.

Our Lady of America – Ohio – whose statue resides at the JPII Center in
Washington. Archbishop Raymond Burke was largely instrumental in having
her statue placed their in obedience to the message the nun, Sister Mildred,
      received from the Blessed Mother.

The apparition in Venzeula is approved also or partially approved. Another in
Syria or was it Iraq was approved.

The site is interesting but needs more research.

I am enjoying your site and reading about Our Lady and how powerful even her image is to those who heed and pray. I must agree however that places in the US have been overlooked. Emmittsburg, MD where I have been myself to pray is not mentioned. She has been giving messages to Gianna Sullivan for many years. Thank you for your hard work.

I’m not sure about all of the apparitions people have listed. Are they really approved by the Church? See: http://www.apparitions.org/ for one list of approved apparitions.

Medjugorje and Garabandal should not be included, nor should Bayside. The map is of value only if it keeps to approved apparitions.

Whether you have included all the apparitions or not or whether, as someone said, those apparitions have been approved or not…let’s all recognize what a great job they have done here with this web site. Good job to the webmasters…and thank you for reminding us all of our Mother’s determination for evangelization. Good work!

Great idea! May I suggest one pin color for approved apparitions and another pin color for those apparitions that the church has not yet made a determination (like Medjugorje)?

Medjugorje and Garabandal should certainly be included. The former had the blessing of Pope John Paul II, the latter of St. Padre Pio.

Remember, the Holy Spirit does not wait for Church approval, and neither does Our Lady.

This morning I awoke thinking of two more United States Marian Apparition sites to consider: Tampa Bay, FL, and Mother Cabrini Shrine, Lookout Mountain, CO. Don’t worry about apparition sites being approved or not. It could take the Church 50 years or more before it agrees on authenticity. We’ll all be dead by then. Just make note of the condemned ones like Bayside. I like Ray’s idea for color coding the pins so one can tell whether the Church is considering, has approved, ignored, or condemned the sites.

    16. Keith Wilks says:
      16

I agree with Jeff Johnson. Many people have seen Our Mother at Medjugorje. Another site in the States that the Bishop has condemed it good. I know several people who have seen miracles there including myself. If you want I can send you some of the pictures that God and Our Blessed Mother gave me. The Mother Cabrini Shrine in Colorado. Veronica Garcia was the seer.

Another one in Canada is Father Melvin Doucette of P.E.I. . This one is approved I believe. She calls herself Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. She says it is holy ground because no abortions are allowed there.

Please include in the Marian apparitions interactive map- the Apparitions of Our Lady in Lipa (Batangas), Philippines in 1948. Our Lady appeared to a Carmelite novice, Teresita Castillo in the Carmel of Lipa. The Blessed Virgin Mary identified herself: “I am Mary, Mediatrix of All Grace.” In the last apparition on Novembet 12, 1948, she said: “My message here is the same message that I have given at Fatima.” The apparitions of Our Lady in Lipa were accompanied by the the phenomenon of the shower of rose petals with mysterious holy images.

Though never approved by the bishop of the diocese of Atlanta, Mary appeared in Conyers, Georgia for nearly 10 years in the 1990s under the title of Our Loving Mother. My family went there many times. Mary’s apparitions were on the 13th of the month during the recitation of the Holy Rosary. Messages were received monthly and the local press covered the apparitions widely. Many things, including the miracle of the sun, doorway to heaven, the scent of roses were experienced. Mary brought some members of my husband’s family back to the faith, and my little boy saw Mary ascending into the sky following the apparition. It was a holy time.

Amazing, I was curious about all the approved apparition sites around the world and I prayed for this exact need. Thank you Jesus for answering my prayers. Please keep it church approved only, perhaps a second map of others considered for approval would be of interest. What is sad is there is nothing in North America. Something else to pray about, indeed.

I believe that we might all find that the messages given to Maria of Agreda in the mid 1600 by Our Blessed Mother and Jesus and written down in her book The Mystical City of God may turn out to be the most important ones yet. It fills in all the life of Mary and Jesus not in the Bible. More about it can be found at rtmathews.com
If you are not familiar with this book I highly recomend it to you. The complete works is 4 volumes and also abridged into one book and then there is The Divine Life of the Most Holy Virgin taken from the Mystical City of God.

    22. Father Richard Bain says:
      22

I think it would be very helpful if you would use one color for the sites that have Roman Catholic Church approval – such as Lourdes and Fatima, and another color for the sites that do not have Roman Catholic Church approval yet – such as Garabandal and Medjugorje. Otherwise you might as well put on your map the over 80,0000 reported apparations of the Blessed Virgin Mary world wide to date.

Please be faithful to the Catholic Church. There are far to many apparitions listed on this site that are not approved by the Catholic Church. There is only harm to the Body of Christ when non-approved apparitions are put forth ahead of the Catholic Church saying they are of God. We are saying we know more or better than Mother Church – that is dangerous. Please let us be odedient children and faitful. God knows what we need for our salvation better than we….let us submit ourselved to His all knowing care and concern for us. Please.

    29. Rafael says:

All of the approved Marian apparitions like La Salette, Lourdes, Pontmain, Knock, Fatima, Beauraing, Banneux, Akita, Betania, etc. once had undergone the “unapproved stage” in the same footing as Garabandal, Medjugorje , etc. It is because of the apparent fruits- conversions, healings, miracles, etc. together with the devotion of the pilgrims who came to these sites and the spreading of the messages coming from these sites that the Chuch finally approved them.

We cannot and should never stifle the work of the Holy Spirit and of Our Lady. We cannot dictate Our Lady when and where to appear.

“One must follow the authority of the Church with certainty. Before She expresses an opinion, however, there must be spiritual progress, because She cannot pronounce judgment hastily. It takes place as with a birth that is followed by baptism and confirmation. THE CHURCH WILL CONFIRM THAT WHICH IS BORN OF GOD. You must walk and advance in the spiritual life, impelled by these messages.”

Conyers was definitely false. Archbishop Lyke said simply, “If it’s from God, it will last.” (Quoting Acts). It didn’t last, with everyone suing everyone else (over who owns the rights to the messages) last I heard and the alleged visionary long gone after a nasty divorce. I was there as a parochial vicar from 1995-1997 and knew her well. Clearly false. If need be, I’ll talk with Archbishop Gregory to issue a clear condemnation (though I believe Lyke’s was clear enough).

Same with Emmitsburg. It divided a beautiful parish, and Archbishop Keeler declared it “clearly non-supernatural” in 2003 and barred her from Catholic property. She continues in disobedience at non-Catholic venues. I was there in seminary from 1991-1995 and we all knew her.

Medjugorje is tough because I’ve been there five times. But one thing to keep in mind: the discernment of the Church states that alleged apparitions are ***clearly false*** if the visionaries benefit financially. That’s an absolute. I’ve met several of the visionaries and some of them have clearly benefited and continue to benefit financially from the visions. Do a little research, and it’s obvious, not matter how sincere.

Rafael stated: “It is because of the apparent fruits- conversions, healings, miracles, etc. together with the devotion of the pilgrims who came to these sites and the spreading of the messages coming from these sites that the Chuch finally approved them.”

Not sure where Rafael studied his knowledge of how apparitions are approved but the steps that he lays out are not accurate. It is not because of the fruits, devotion, spreading of the messages that the Church looks to for approval for authenticity of apparitions…these norms are clearly stated by the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) in the “Norms of the Congregation for Proceeding in Judging Alleged Apparitions and Revelations” and the discernment process is not as Rafael states.

      Rafael also includes this quote:

“One must follow the authority of the Church with certainty. Before She expresses an opinion, however, there must be spiritual progress, because She cannot pronounce judgment hastily. It takes place as with a birth that is followed by baptism and confirmation. THE CHURCH WILL CONFIRM THAT WHICH IS BORN OF GOD. You must walk and advance in the spiritual life, impelled by these messages.”

      -Our Lady, Queen of Peace
      Medjugorje, Bosnia Herzegovina (1986)

Our Blessed Mother would never encourage us to NOT listen to Holy Mother Church and Her teachings…especially in matters of private revelations – since they do not affect our salvation. Therefore the Blessed Mother herself would want us to follow the Church when it comes to approved/non-approved apparitions. Until the Church pronounces an apparition authentic – we cannot be assured of the source. So if we do not need private revelations for our salvation why risk our souls focusing on non-approved apparitions?

three stories high since l996. She appears on a bank window because “you have
made money your God”. By God grace, this image has been present since l996.
When a vandal destroyed the upper window three years ago, the image of the
Suffering Jesus manifested on the lower window. The “Shepherds of Christ”
movement purchased the bank building and pray and support and guard the window.

    39. Keith Wilks says:

When God and Our Blessed Mother give messages for us it’s not because they are bored and have nothing to do. It’s because we need the messages to help us through difficult times.

Remember Padre Pio was not believed and was forbiden to hold mass publicly for 10 years. How much longer did it take for everything to be approved? So if you want to wait until you die to believe them then they certainly will be in vain for you.

    40. Kathy says:

It’s time for Rome to take a look at Bayside and not the forces that want to discourage or squelch the messages. Rome has never investigated only commented that the local Bishop was correct. Well was Bishop Mugavero correct in establishing the very first gay/lesbian church group in Long Island in the 70’s which has resulted in scandal? Let Rome decide. please see http://www.tldm.org/news2/Fr._Nunes.htm

thank you all & God Bless & Protect YOU

The title, “Our Lady, Queen of Peace,” did not originate in Medjugorge. It existed 10 years before where a little Church is found a few miles from Medjugorge. This is proof that the alleged seers were familiar with this Marian name and used it to their advantage.

To Bob in # 32, show respect to the Church authorities. Jesus did say, “They have ears and they do not hear.” How can the blind lead the blind? This is what is happening with this webpage.

    42. Debbie says:
      42

Of the Marian apparitions that I am famililar with, the constant messages point you and lead you to Christ. The messages do not conflict with Church teaching, or send you out to left field. In the world we live in today I can see the need for these messages and reinforcements.

I believe there are false visionaries out there and one needs to be cautious. If what you are being told is in conflict with the Church’s teaching, then this is truly false. In time, the truth will become evident to all as long as you know the teachings of the Church.

Also, you need to add Our Lady of Light, appearing in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area beginning in the 90’s. Father Leroy Smith is the visionary’s spiritual mentor. Our Lady of Light said that we could use her as a magnifying glass to see her Son. What a beautiful thought. Peace and God bless.

The Brooklyn Diocese never investigated Bayside! At 7:30 p.m. on November 7, 1984, Boston channel 5 aired a segment about the Bayside apparitions on the TV show, “The Chronicle.” During this program, Msgr. King admitted that he did not talk to Veronica until after the so-called “investigation.” See the complete story at http://www.tldm.org/no-invest/investigation1.htm

I challenge everyone to go to http://www.tldm.org and try to find anything in the prophecies that contradicts traditional Roman Catholicism. No cardinal, bishop, priest, or theologian has ever proved and traditional doctoral errors in the Bayside Prophecies.

This is a word from Jesus: “All who have closed their hearts to My Mother’s message will be brought down to their knees in shock! ” (2-1-75)

    44. Susan Rezsonya says:

Fr. P. Something or someone keeps calling you back to Medjugorje if you’ve been there five times. My husband and I were in Medjugorje in November 2006 and had a beautiful spiritual experience. So many people’s lives have benefited from Medjugorje – ask Michael Brown, former secular writer and fallen away Catholic who has devoted his life to Jesus and Mary (website: spiritdaily.com).

If Conyers is “clearly false”, I can only say thank you Mary for the blessings my family received while driving seven hours to attend “apparitions” or the greatest prayer meetings ever (with 100,000 at highest attendance). Mary announced in 1997 that the message had been given and would be no more – so we all came to say goodbye and thank you, and carry the message with us.

    45. Gary Lee says:

Pray for the priests and laity who attack the Bayside Apparitions because Jesus said:

“Better that a man has died in the womb of his mother than to disgrace and to bring discredit to My Mother (Our Lady of the Roses).” (11-22-75)

    46. Abel C says:
      46

Joan of Arc was condemned to death by a Catholic Bishop and was later declared innocent by the Holy See. She is even a saint now, so the Bayside and Naju apparitions should not be discounted, especially when you read what the websites for each has to say about the errors made in the respective declarations by the bishops.

    47. Jacqueline Boyce says:
      47

Jesus only gave one criteria for judging whether a thing is of God or not – “By their fruits you will know them.”

    48. Fr. P says:

Susan, I remember well the day we did 17 Masses in Conyers (3 of us), not including the Masses at the Monastery (that my family helped build more than 50 years ago).

I don’t doubt the efficacy of large prayer gatherings, such as Conyers or Medjugorje, but I am also aware of the negative effects. I’ll leave it at that, only to say that when one woman approached me and asked if I was a “believer”, I told her to go home and fall in love with Jesus in the Eucharist. She saw me again at the next alleged event, and I asked her “didn’t I tell you to go home?” She didn’t get it, which means she also didn’t any message of Mary, if it was authentic.

My last visit to Medjugorje was in 1996. A couple of years later, I had dinner with Ivan, as he made a tour of the US (he wanted to speak at my parish, but I arranged for him to speak at a larger nearby parish instead). We talked about all the cults springing up around Medjugorje, like Caritas of Birmingham. He has a beautiful message, but the fact remains: he makes a living off the visions (he took up a collection at the parish). Doesn’t matter how long you wait, the Church will always dismiss it because of that. If he had joined the priesthood, I would have been more impressed and the Church might have been more disposed to listen to his message as it did to Sr. Lucia of Fatima.

As for Michael B., I have corresponded with him. He doesn’t like me because I point out that many of his ruminations are based on astrology, the New Age, and numerology. I’m sure he’s the nicest guy in the world, but his Catholicism is tainted by the very things he points out are condemned way back in the Old Testament.

Abel C.: be very careful about buying the excuse “well, one apparition in another time and another place was condemned but later rehabilitated” when speaking of alleged apparitions like Bayside and Naju and Vasula or whoever. That’s an easy trap the Evil One wants you to fall in to. Where are you safer? With the judgment of the Church, or the judgment of individuals making money off your devotion?

Fr. P, were you saying St. Joan of Arc had alleged apparitions (post #48)? If so, I’d like to explain my post (#46). Joan of Arc was a Catholic woman in the 15th Century who was falsely accused of heresy, judged in a trial by a bishop to be guilty, and burned at the stake as her sentence. My point was that bishops can make errors and one has to have an open mind and not discount things and have blind obedience. The websites for the Bayside messages contain much truth including from the Bible and many reported miracles including photographs, and the messages promote support for the Church and Pope. His Holiness, Pope Urban VIII from many years ago stated: “In cases which concern private revelations, it is better to believe than not to believe, for, if you believe, and it is proven true, you will be happy that you have believed, because our Holy Mother asked it. If you believe, and it should be proven false, you will receive all blessings as if it had been true, because you believed it to be true.”

I have also to say to those who have trouble believing in apparitions sites “For those who don’t believe no explanation is enough ,and for those who do believe no explanation is needed”.Also wasn’t it a a Pope or a Saint who said somewhere in the front of the Pieta book about believing with blind faith until something is proven wrong.Naturally we should “all” take such matters to the help of the Holy Spirit for guidance. Thanks also to all the web masters for all the info you have provided us all with, I know from having read all of the above comments, you may have more work to do in some areas. Please include Our Lady of America, (see oltiv.org.) there is an article on the site from the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel that chronicles much of the history as well as current miracles attributed to Our Lady of America.
It was in Rome City, Indiana, in the Our Lady Mother of Mercy Chapel, where the Blessed Mother first appeared to Sr. Mary Ephrem as Our Lady of America in 1956, and where many of the central messages were given. These were approved by Bishop Leibold in the ’60’s, including Our Lady’s request for America to return to purity, and to have her likeness, as Our Lady of America, placed in the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
But Rome City is not only the place where Our Lady appeared to Sr. Mary Ephrem, it continues to be a place of spiritual and physical healing. Many people who have visited Medjugorge state that Rome City has the same “feeling”
and many have been healed with the water there as at Lourdes. In my own case, like many others, I was blessed to witness the sun “spinning” after praying the rosary.
In response to another article, the English translated copy of the Mystical City of God, was first approved and signed in Rome City, Indiana, by Bishop Alerding
      of Fort Wayne in 1902.

While the mapping of apparitions is a great idea I like others found this map to be incomplete. Have you ever heard of the Philippines? Our lady of Piat just celebrated her 400th anniversary in 04. You also mixed approved with unapproved and 1 condemened site. Very strange. BTW..For the previous poster: Gianna Sullivan is the name of the visionary in Emmitsburg Md. The website for Our Lady of Emmitsburg is centeroftheimmaculateheart.org. You can acually attend an apparition on the 1st Sunday of the month but you have to check the site because it does change sometimes.

Naju has not been condemed. twice in
december (07) the vatican told the unbelieving Archbishop of Kwang-Ju to
approve Naju…The vatican has always been in favor of Naju and all of the awsome miracles have vbeen shown on National TV in Italy, with their permission. Liberals have a choke hold con the church is south korea. This is a
battle for the soul of Asia. This is the
prime mssion of Naju. Meanwhile the churcj in Korea has been protestantized
and new age has crept in. no apparition
site has received the signs and miracles
that have graced Naju. I have been there many times. Jesus recently said : Not since the foundation of the world have they seen and heard what you have seen and heard. Not even solomon received the graces you are receiving.: It is the most important site because it has the responsibility of converting pagan
asia. http://www.najumary.or.kr is thei website. You need to do a little research. I can give you more info if
you need it. sincerely Merton D. Rodger

Abel, the point I was making is that you are using this logic: that 1) the church was (allegedly) wrong once, 2) the church can be wrong again, therefore 3) I can continue to believe in whatever I want.

That’s dangerous grounds to be on, for on what grounds will you ever *disbelieve* an apparition?

What you miss in the Pope Urban XIII’s statement is “if you believe, and it should be proven false…” He’s only referring to those who may have believed *before* it was proven false. And his statement certainly does not endorse believing every alleged apparition before it is investigated. If a bishop should choose not to investigate, one should err on the side of disbelief.

There is one canonical ground and one only for determining whether a private revelation can be believed, and that is the local bishop. Therefore Bayside, Naju, Conyers, Emmitsburg are already *proven false* and so merit no attention from the faithful.

Moreover, once approved, the event is approved, not the message. This, for example, is true of Fatima. The Church’s approval does not consist in approving the exact words or messages of Fatima (because they rely on human, fallible testimony and even faulty translation), but the event itself, and later, the sanctity of Sr. Lucia. So for example, you are free to believe that Mary did not warn Lucia about the error of Russia’s ways spreading, because, contrary to popular hagiography, Sr. Lucia *did not reveal* that until after WWII had begun.

Also remember that St. Joan of Arc was under investigation for heresy, not whether or not her voices were supernatural.

And of course you are aware that Church approval means only that it is not harmful to the faith and it may be believed, not that it must be believed.

Anyone interested might also want to know that all followers and promoters of Naju who participate in events at sites related to Naju have received the penalty of latae sententiae excommunication, as of January 21, 2008.

Since Jesus said He would be with us until the end of time, doesn’t it also stand to reason that His (Our) Mother is also with us? If we continually reason in human terms it will be impossible to discern – only those who actually witness or experience an apparition will KNOW! But He also said that those who believe with faith will be blessed. And, if the tendency is to be skeptical of all “unapproved” visitations I would hate to have to answer to Jesus why I did not hear and see with my eyes and ears. I believe discernment for some things is a life-long process. The thunderbolt will hit you when it is your turn to comprehend!

The Church is infallible only under certain conditions. The Bible is infallible because a Pope declared it to be so. The Pope sometimes is.
One must obey God before man.
It is an accepted part of Church history that St. Joan of Arc was wrongly sent to die for heresy.

I think a great job has been done here. Some say you cant please all of the people all of the time… And to list the unapproved and those not yet given a decision has to be helpful to those searching out God’s grace through Our Lady. However one thing, given that such a task has been undertaken that I hope will happen here, is that as fuller index is given. Divine Mercy and Sacred Heart et al is not listed and when you think how many Saints are there that have received visions? If this was done in a complete way then the very power and the very truth of God’s grace and works over the last 2000 years would list to such a level that I believe much fruit could be borne. I congratulate the webmasters for such a wonderful idea put into to action and pray they take this further.

Abel: the Church can be mistaken about whether an individual is a heretic. When it speaks authoritatively, it cannot be mistaken about whether a particular teaching is a heresy. You’re confusing the two. Many apparitions are condemned precisely because of doctrinal errors.

Harry: any Catholic can have a wonderful relationship with Our Lady without having heard of a single apparition or experienced anything mystical. All you need is the Bible and the Teaching of the Church. I fear many are substituting alleged messages for the Bible and Tradition. For example, Terry Colafrancesco of Caritas of Birmingham once told me that his compilation of Mary’s messages in Medjugorje (Words from Heaven) would one day replace the Bible. He’s wrong, naturally.

Wonderful map, thank you. Nancy Fowler in Conyers,GA received messages. I was physically and spiritually healed there July 13, 1993. My husband (an officer in the army) and I saw the spinning of the sun as clear as day. It has been almost 15 years since my healing and I am still devoted to our Lord and Lady.

Our lady appeared in Vallankani, India in the 15th century. this must be added as well. Also, Our lady of Sheshen in China. The map is nice but incomplete. Please add these as well. She has many many devotees in India and this should not be left off the map.

I do not think there are many if any serious Christians who take apparations over the Bible. I do believe with all of my heart though that since God has been comunicating with mankind from the very beginning, that apparitions, visions, prophesies are all signs that communication has not stopped. I think anything truly from God is greater than gold, than all the treasures of the earth. The first apparitions recorded of Our Lady was in 40 AD. If God sends these graces then it is never ever for nothing, and should never ever be received as nothing. If the message is given it is because it is needed.

I am compiling a graph for a book of all of the apparitions since the first century to the present time. The approved ones. Now I do realize that there is the Bishop approved and the Vatican approved and these seem to be two very different things. For instance: The Lady of All Nations and also Our Lady of Argentina are both Bishop approved. With the latter however many people do not favour Argentina.

I would so love to find out more about Sheshen in China.

      God Bless

Here’s the authoritative source on the subject of Revelations and Visions, Poulain’s “The Graces of Interior Prayer” (all readable via Google books online):

      http://books.google.com/books?id=zskQhOSYCC0C&pg=PA299&dq=poulain+%22graces+of+interior+prayer%22&source=gbs_toc_s&cad=1&sig=ZiytIgK_Vl_ySKvDO2vzLv1F5uc

This is what trained theologians and spiritual directors use for such matters. Since 90% of the Catholic public are unaware of it, likewise 90% of theologians and spiritual directors, it is no wonder why so many false apparitions (such as Conyers and Emmitsburg) are accepted by the faithful and even priests and bishops.

You’d be surprised now many examples Poulain gives of mistakes and errors among even canonized Saints.

“In some ways this is the most difficult standard by which to judge the validity of a visionary’s locutions. Does the visionary submit to ecclesiastical authority expressed by the bishop of the diocese or the Bishop of Rome? In an age like ours, one reason for the flood of “revelations” is that the Church’s Authority is so widely ignored or even rejected. ”

Hi all! There is another recent apparition site you may wish to know about. At Catania, Sicily, Italy: Rosario Tuscano, 15, reported ’supernatural manifestations’ of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Here she is Our Lady of Blepasso.

The website and story with messages and position of the church can be found here: http://www.rocciadibelpasso.it/apparizionie.htm

In message 14, Jeff Johnson said, “Remember, the Holy Spirit does not wait for Church approval, and neither does Our Lady.”

Oh, yes indeed, they do! Remember that Our Lord Himself established the Magisterium and delegated to it His authority. It is luncacy, and I daresay heresy to even intimate that Our Lord would undermine His own authority. Certainly Our Lady would not override the authority established by her Divine Son.

About 20-30 years before Our Lord appeared to Sr Faustinia, He appeared to Sister Josepha Melendez, giving her the same message of repentance. Her superiors told Josepha that when Our Lord appeared, she would have to excuse herself to ask their permission to let the interview continue. She did so the next time. She expressed the hope that Our Lord would not be displeased. He said that quite to the contrary, that He was pleased with their prudence in taking this measure. He urged her to obey, and even said that He Himself would obey. In further sessions, He reminded her to leave and ask her superiors’ permission. He also said that if He asked her to do something and her superiors said do something else, that He would rather that she obey her superiors rather than Him.

Now if Our Lord – that is, God Himself – gladly submitted to Church authority in the form of the convent superiors, we should certainly expect that Mary (who is NOT God)would gladly wait for Church approval. Unfortunately, Mr Johnson, your posting indicates a rebellious attitude towards Holy Mother Church.

This sense of chafing under Church authority is, in my opinion, prima face evidence of the falsehood and perhaps diabolicial origins of Medjugorgie, Emmitsburg, that thing on Achil Island in Ireland.

Please don’t refer to the Bayside apparitions as being “condemned”. The Bishop of Brooklyn never used that word. His declaration said there was nothing supernatural going on there after he had made a “thorough” investigation into them. However, it must be known that the seer of Bayside was never questioned and the norms for discernment of Marian apparitions issued by Rome were not followed. There is no report on the findings. Call the Brooklyn chancery and they will tell you that. After 38 years of graces cures, and conversions, this Shrine most definitely deserves a proper and true canonical investigation. See the new guidelines being issued by Pope Benedict XVI. BTW..Rome has finally clamped down on the false apparitions at Medjugorgie so please don’t give them anymore credence.

      Hi all,
I was one of those who made pilgrimages to Denver in the early 90’s. I stopped as soon as the bishop declared the apparitions as not of supernatural origin. Until recently I didn’t even know the reasoning behind it, nor did I care too much. Remember folks, obedience to the church ABOVE ALL. That’s what has always distinguished the true visionaries and saints from the false prophets – OBEDIENCE TO THE CHURCH. If the signs are indeed from God, He will find a way.

What baffles me is why people feel the need to defend so many questionable and church disproven (or disapproved) apparitions when the true approved ones abound. For some good insight, please read this resource:

I found it recently while searching for Theresa Lopez out of curiosity. I was shocked at what I read about her. Thank God for our mother the Church for protecting us from our naivety. God bless you all and be safe out there.

I too saw the Miracle of the Lights in Norwood, Ohio – twice!
It was astounding. I took a video of the event which clearly showed the massive illumination of the Holy Spirit Seminary building. I donated the tape to the Our Lady of the Holy Spirit retreat center there and it may be available through them.
I had people write me from all over the country asking for copies of the tape. The Bishop of Cincinnati declared that “nothing supernatural” had taken place there. Well, if he’s right, 50,000+ people were totally fooled. I think if it wasn’t supernatural, then we need an explanation as to what the heck it was!
      Mary, pray for us.
